‘Lobster’ and ‘Lyrebird’ at 2022 SXSW

Balangara’s Lobster and Lyrebird films will be part of the Rainforest Partnerships Films for the Forest at SXSW, screening in the intimate, 229-seat black box Rollins Theatre within the Long Center complex, Austin Texas.
After two years of virtual programming, the South by Southwest Film Festival (SXSW) has announced the 2022 program for its return to an in-person event. And with it, Rainforests Partnership is once again hosting Films for the Forest.
As such, the Tasmanian lobster film A Gentle Giant, has been invited to screen as part of the 2022 Films for the Forest SXSW Community Screening.
The multi award-winning short, produced by Balangara Films and The Wilderness Society will be part of a 90-minute shorts program, which will take place Sunday, March 13th at 5:45 pm. .
Alongside the Rainforest Partnership, the Animalis Fabula Film Festival will be at SXSW. The selection committee at Anifab has this year chosen The Message Of The Lyrebird trailer to be shown during F3 - the same Rainforest Partnership Films For the Forest Presentation.
The lyrebird and the lobster rely on old-growth forests for their own growth and the continuation of life.
SXSW is an internationally recognised event bringing thousands of visitors to Austin each March and is one of the world's premier events showcasing music, film and interactive media, live panels, special events, virtual cinema and much more.
