There’s a famous quote about Finnish story-telling…

The Finns don’t have fairytales about “dragons”… they tell stories about “flying snakes” (Lohikäärme).

“This was the kind of spirit I found in lyrebird which is infused in the documentary. Everything about lyrebird is magical, spiritual, artistic and weird, and so the story-telling naturally took an off-beat path to that of a traditional wildlife film.” – Mark Pearce, director The Message of the Lyrebird.
