Lyrebird lays its message around the planet!

August 2022 film festival season

Recent selections on the festival circuit during August means Lyrebird has crossed into Canada, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Scandinavia.

Here’s the round-up!

Selected for Best Environmental Film
Montreal, Canada


Lyrebird was selected at Montreal Independent Film Festival (MIFF) summer seasonal event in association with MIFF channel and MIFF magazine for Best Environmental Film. With thousands of entries every year, the film was blessed to be part of this awesome fest!

Cannes award winners, Oscar nominees and emerging independent film projects have competed in the festival with indie artists and projects of all genres in various sections of the festival. Here’s a link to all the winners:


Lyrebird in Lithuania!
Utena, Lithuania

We're delighted to celebrate this moment for The Message of the Lyrebird. The film has been officially selected at the 8th Wolves Independent International Film Festival (WIIFF) for Best Documentary Feature. The festival showcases all genres films about nature, heritage, environment, history, culture, etnography, adventure, wildlife, indigenous cultures and social issues. It will screen in the village of Saldutiškis, in Utena, Lithuania during the three day long film festival August 26–28. 2022.


At the Finnish Line
Helsinki, Finland

Lyrebird made it through as an Official Selection to the yearly 2022 Indie Cinema Awards held in Helsinki, Finland 26-27 August and will compete in the Documentary Film category. The awards ceremony is managed by Indie Cinema Magazine to promote auteur cinema and to be a celebration of world cinema. Along with a set of other selected films in the session, Lyrebird screens on 26th Aug from 4:00PM Sturenkatu at Naapuruustila 2, P-kerros 11, 00510 Helsinki.

Lyrebird has been officially selected for the 2022 SOFA Film Festival in the Wildlife category.

The festival showcases the finest local and international independent films relating to wildlife, animal welfare,conservation and the environment. SOFA screens films to build the bridge between the public and those with boots on the ground raising awareness and fighting for the survival of the animal kingdom and the planet we inhabit.

Lyrebird will screen October 1-16 in competition with other films from around the world that have been made with an intention, concept or story to convey the connection between the animals and their humans and how they have fit into our world.
