The Message of the Lyrebird was awarded in the top 10 films at the 8th Annual Wolves Independent International Film Festival, Utena – Lithuania.

Kangaroo Valley will now join in the amazement and learnings of The Message of the Lyrebird with funds raised from the event going directly to Upper Kangaroo Valley Landcare Group.

The ‘Secrets of the Lyrebird’ weekend (July 16&17) kicked-off on Saturday afternoon at Sun Cinema in Bairnsdale with a screening of The Message of the Lyrebird, where the film “fit the bill”, John Ireland, President [aka ‘the FUNCmeister’] of FUNCi, declared.

On Thursday 23rd June, 170 nature lovers attended the evening screening of The Message of the Lyrebird, packing out the Huskisson Pictures auditorium; a quaint movie theatre in the picturesque seaside town of Huskisson, New South Wales.

Lyrebird was included in the Best Feature Documentary category and was up against 12 other exceptional and thought-provoking stories.

The judging committee, headquartered at Humboldt State University California, have made their final selection decisions for the festival which features outstanding films that portray important concepts in animal behavior in the context of research, education and conservation.

Balangara Films celebrates the European premiere of The Message of the Lyrebird in honour of Hungarian born political refugee, Laszlo Erdos and his surviving wife, Jennifer Erdos for their pioneering work of Australian nature films.
